Optimization of liquid fermentation of microbial consortium WSD-5 followed by saccharification and acidification of wheat straw

► A lignocellulolytic microbial consortium WSD-5 was established in the liquid medium. ► The optimized WSD-5 shows high hemicellulase and strong degradation of wheat straw. ► The ability of WSD-5 was good both in the saccharification and acidification.
