Influence of ligninolytic enzymes on straw saccharification during fungal pretreatment

► Two different pretreatments by 10 fungal strains were applied to wheat straw. ► For the same species ligninolytic enzyme activities differed between the two pretreatments. ► Results suggest that solid state incubation is the best process to enhance saccharification. ► It was found a relationship between lignin peroxidase and saccharification increase.
