Process model and economic analysis of ethanol production from sugar beet raw juice as part of the cleaner production concept

► We developed a process and cost model for ethanol production from raw juice. ► Sensitivity study showed that the system is economically viable. ► The optimal percentage of recycled biomass is in the range from 50% to 70%. ► The model may be used as a useful tool for process development and assessment.
