Metabolic fate of cardiac glycosides and flavonoids upon fermentation of aqueous sea squill (Drimia maritima L.) extracts

- The cardiac glycoside and phenolic profile of sea squill extracts was characterised.
- Bufadienolides and phenolics were metabolised by microbial/plant enzyme activities.
- Metabolisation products were analysed by HPLC-DAD-MSn and GC-MS.
