Ferrofluid-based dispersive solid phase extraction of palladium

► New method of dispersive-solid phase extraction based on ferrofluid is proposed. ► Ferrofluid is injected rapidly into the aqueous sample by a syringe. ► The extraction time had no significant impact on extraction efficiency. ► D-SPE is simple, low cost and suitable for batch operations. ► The sorbent is highly dispersed in the aqueous phase, so extraction is very fast.
