Ruthenium anticancer agent KP1019 binds more tightly than NAMI-A to tRNAPhe

Interactions between two ruthenium-based anti-cancer drugs and phenylalanine-specific tRNA were investigated using intrinsic and extrinsic fluorescence assays. The drugs were compared and it was determined that the ligands attached to the ruthenium centers play a significant role in binding affinities.292
