Artificial and natural radioactivity in edible mushrooms from Sao Paulo, Brazil

► 137Cs, 40K, 226Ra and 228Ra in edible mushroom samples. ► There are very few data about natural radionuclides in mushrooms. ► The radionuclide activities were below the national maximum permissible levels. ► Mushrooms can be consumed by the population without any apparent risks.
