Structural aspects of gas and dolomite outburst in Rudna copper mine, Poland

► Gas and dolomite outburst took place in copper mine.
► Porosity of outburst mass was examined and it was compared with the porosity of surrounding sidewalls.
► Porosity varies on the level of macropores which are present in the outburst mass only.
► Residual gas pressure and minimal gas volume in the rock mass before the outburst were estimated.
► We conclude that gas and dolomite outburst occurred near the “gas pocket”.
