Effect of concentration of dispersed organic matter on optical maturity parameters:

► Comparison of vitrinite reflectance and fluorescence spectra measured in whole rock and kerogen concentrate samples. ► The vitrinite reflectance measurements are not influenced by kerogen isolation methods. ► The acid treatment appeared to have an effect on the fluorescence spectra of alginite which were generally shifted to higher wavelengths in the kerogen concentrate samples.
