Identification of candidate genes for phenolics accumulation in tomato fruit

► A tomato introgression line exhibiting high phenolics fruit content was selected. ► Candidate genes involved in vacuolar phenolics accumulation were identified. ► ERF genes have a key-role in phenolics accumulations in tomato fruits. ► A TILLING tomato mutant of ERF1 gene exhibits lower level of phenolics in the fruit.
