► Bisphosphonates and statins increase OPG expression. ► Bisphosphonates and statins inhibit the expression of CD9, M-CSF, and RANKL. ► Bisphosphonates and statins suppressed Ras signallings and activated p38MAPK. ► Future studies on the clinical application of this new finding are expected.
