Effect of different iron sources on the alleviation of nutritional anaemia in common sole (Solea solea)

High, this study tested iron sources and their effect on mineral absorption, haematocrit and haemoglobin in anaemic sole. Absorption data of minerals in anaemic sole is novel. The high absorption of iron and copper in sole fed heme did not affect haematocrit and haemoglobin, which suggests the nutritional anaemia in sole is not an iron nor a copper deficiency anaemia.
