Behandlung von Morbus Sudeck mit Akupunktur und Lasertherapie - Falldarstellung aus einer orthopädischen Praxis

Sudeck's disease was first described in 1900. There is no exact explanation as to which pathophysical mechanism this algodystrophia is based on. Certainly it is a complex trophic - neurotrophic event with a distinctive vasomotorial component. Approximately 60% of all cases are posttraumatic. 2-3 % of all extremity injuries show this strong persistant pain Syndrom. The case example of this patient shows, that acupuncture in combination with a local laser therapy can be used in each stage of the disease alongside western medical treatment. Pain reduction and a functional improvement was achieved. Further four patients have been treated with good result. A definitive statement cannot yet therefore be given, but the success shows that acupuncture and laser therapy can be usefully combined with classic medicine to relieve the suffering of these patients.
