Hypersensibilités postopératoires : conséquences cliniques

Postoperative hyperalgesia is not only the consequence of intense pain subsequent to a surgical procedure, but can also be exacerbated by high-dose opioids used for anesthesic purposes. This can lead to longstanding hypersensitivity and acute tolerance to the analgesic effects of morphine in the postoperative period. This acute tolerance to the analgesic effects of morphine leads to overconsumption during the immediate postoperative period with the associated increase in the risk of adverse effects. Therapeutic strategies are based on intraoperative sparing of opioid doses, adjunction of pharmacological agents such as NMDA receptor antagonists or combination with locoregional anesthesia techniques.
