The accreditation manual for French healthcare institutions includes an article (n̊ 32) specifically devoted to pain. Four items are developed: concertation among healthcare professionals concerning the management of pain, patient-centered care, evaluation and training, and treatment availability. The organization of pain management is of importance for all healthcare workers who should become familiar with these four goals of accreditation.
