L’obésité féminine comme incarnation du féminin mélancolique

RésuméL’écoute psychanalytique de patientes obèses nous permet de proposer un faisceau d’hypothèses quant aux soubassements psychopathologiques de certains cas d’obésité morbide. L’organisation psychique particulière que représente le féminin mélancolique nous paraît y tenir une place centrale. Cette organisation se déplie en deux versions. Dans la première le corps de la fille est attaqué et annulé en tant que corps sexué car fantasmatiquement coupable d’avoir séduit et excité le père. La seconde version telle qu’on la rencontre chez certaines femmes obèses tient dans le fantasme de dévoration et l’identification mélancolique à la mère, avec pour corolaire une ambivalence amour/haine coriace à l’endroit du corps propre confondu avec celui de cette dernière.

Some feminine obesity is underlain by a melancholic organisation, which can have several shapes. In some cases, the women's body is affected and attacked because it's guilty (in the subject fantasy) to have been an exciting and seducing object for the father, when the girl was a child and/or a teenager. In other cases, a fantasy of cannibalism and embodiment of the mother's body dominates the psychic organisation. The melancholic link between mother and daughter is strong and rooted in ambivalent feelings of love and hate.
