Certitude anticipée du passage à l'acte

RésuméLe passage à l'acte est un moment où l'acte du sujet inscrit, à la lettre, dans le réel, la nécessité logique d'une perte. Cette perte vaut pour certification d'une signification aboutie : le sujet se fait « objet-déchet » d'une perte imposée à l'Autre de sa jouissance. Cela ne peut être mis en place que dans le moment d'une certitude anticipée, répondant à la question « que suis-je ? » pour l'Autre (A), dans le contexte d'une forclusion du sujet. Le suicide illustre cette décision ; produit, dès lors, selon Lacan, la modification du sujet par cet acte. Un cas clinique exemplaire (le « cas Marie » de D. Lagache) revisité, permet de vérifier, cliniquement, les coordonnées de cette mise en acte, pour ce sujet. L'évocation des suicides (en hausse) des adolescents, figure actuelle du « malaise dans la civilisation », et celle des « martyrs » de cause politique idéalisée, ouvrent le panorama de cette psychopathologie aux raisons trop souvent obscurcies par la seule référence sociologique.

Acting takes place at a time when the subject's act literally puts down in reality the logical necessity of a loss. The loss is equal to attesting a signification which has been achieved – the subject being altered to a “fallen object” and imposing on the Other a loss of his enjoyment. This can only be established while reaching an anticipated certainty answering the question : ‘What am I for the Other?’. It goes along with the downfall of the subject, contrary to the principle of altering afterward which is at play in Fantasy. Committing suicide illustrates this decision and so, after Lacan, entails the alteration of the subject through the act. An examplary clinical case (the “case of Marie” by D. Lagache) which is revisited here allows us to ascertain clinically the coordinates of the subject's resorting to act. Studying teenagers' suicides (in increasing numbers and a current illustration of the general feeling of discomfort) on the one hand and on the other the martyrs of idealized political causes will throw a new light on psychopathological cases whose reasons are not made the clearer for a sociological approach which is too often the only point of reference used.
