Prise en charge funéraire et caractéristiques démographiques des personnes en grande précarité Ã Nanterre

We report the funeral practices and sociodemographic characteristics of homeless individuals who died in 2012 and 2013 at the centre d'accueil et de soins hospitaliers of Nanterre, France. Mean age at death is significantly lower and mean duration of stay at the death chamber is significantly higher than in the control group. However, access to accommodation and care significantly increases life expectancy compared to those dying in the street. A funeral procedure was put in place so that these deceased are individually buried with dignity.
