La sédation au stade terminal dans le débat français : analyse et mise au point

The purpose of this article is to expose and analyze the different proposals for sedation in terminal stage in the current French debate on the end of life. The content of these proposals is discussed, with particular attention to the difficulties, nuances and possible contradictions. Seeking ethical presuppositions of the problem, the author discusses the specific role of the deontological ethics and presents arguments for preferring a more pragmatic patient-centered approach.
