Opioïdes forts et douleurs liées au cancer : quelles galéniques et quelles équianalgésies ?

The World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines to fight cancer pain are effective to relieve most of nociceptive pains. Strong opioids are often used efficiently; however, a significant proportion of patients taking opioid do not see successful outcomes and have to switch to alternative strong opioid. This rotation is a maneuver aiming at improving analgesic response and/or reducing adverse effects. In this review, indications, principles, strong opioid dose conversion recommendations and guidelines for patients with cancer are presented. The different galenics available in France are also outlined.
