Les pathologies du contrôle respiratoire chez l'enfant

Central respiratory disorders are involved or are thought to be involved in a number of conditions. Congenital central hypoventilation syndrome is caused by a severely impaired central autonomie contral of breathing associated with various degrees of dysfunction of the autonomous nervous system. Heterozygous mutations of PHOX-2B gene are found in 90% of the patients. Central hypoventilation syndromes may be secondary to brain insults of various nature, or be associated with genetic syndromes (such as Prader-Willi syndrome), or with an idiopathic hypothalamic syndrome. The physiopathological mecanisms underlying these conditions remain unkown.
