Clinical psychiatric examination may be completed by depression scales. Depression scales permit the constitution of an homogeneous group of patient and are particularly useful in clinical research or pharmacological essay (scales sensitive to change). Three depression scaies are used a lot in the international literature : Hamilton Depression Scale, Montgomery and Asberg's Depression Scale and Beck Dépression Inventory, Other scales exist but are less used. These scales can be nevertheless interesting because they estimate certain specifie aspects of depressions as the slowing down, automatic thoughts or anhedonia.
