Comparaison des schémas précoces inadaptés chez des étudiants entre le début et la fin d'études universitaires

According to Young's early maladaptive schema theory, these schemas are developed during childhood and are considered to be fairly stable. Nevertheless, it appears that, during particular life events, schemas could change and be activated, especially at the onset of adulthood. For these reasons, we compared the average score of 13 early maladaptive schemas between 29 first-year students and 28 fifth-year students. Results showed important differences between these two populations. Indeed, nine early maladaptive schemas out of 13 differed significantly and the average scores were systematically higher among the first-year students. These results probably reflect the enhanced vulnerability of first-year students.
