Hallucinations chez un enfant non psychotique

RésuméLes hallucinations chez l’enfant peuvent être des symptômes d’une problématique psychiatrique commune, sans pour autant porter le diagnostic sévère de schizophrénie ni même d’un autre trouble psychotique infantile. Nous allons l’illustrer par un cas clinique d’un jeune garçon de dix ans présentant des hallucinations visuelles et auditives dans le cadre d’un trouble obsessionnel-compulsif. Actuellement, les enfants présentant un tel tableau courent encore le risque d’être mal diagnostiqués, pris en charge comme étant atteint de schizophrénie infantile ou de psychose et traités avec des antipsychotiques.

Hallucinations in childhood may occur as a feature of common psychiatric disorder without the unfavourable prognosis of schizophrenia or childhood psychosis. We will describe the case of a ten-year-old boy presenting visual and auditory hallucinations associated with an obsessive-compulsive disorder. Actually, children with such presentations run the risk of being misdiagnosed and treated as having early onset schizophrenia or psychosis and being subjected to the inherent risks of treatment with antipsychotic.
