La transmission dans le lien intime mère-nouveau-né

The condition of being “human” which is basically articulated with the transmission of desire is spotted here and studied starting from the analysis of an intimate diary and a text of D.W. Winnicott relating to the way in which a mother builds the framework of the meeting with her baby during the process of breast feeding. We show that by firstly offering to her newborn baby her desire as an invitation to invest it whereas the baby appeals to the satisfaction of its physiological need, the mother leads her baby to become aware of the world of the other “humanized”. The recognition of the infantile response thereafter to what she proposes to the baby and of the limits involved by it, consequently will bring her to establish with her baby the essential reference marks of the installation of the bond: the place and identity of each one in the eyes of the other.
