Comment la maltraitance intrafamiliale se répète-t-elle ?

RésuméLa maltraitance à enfants interpelle plus d'un clinicien confronté à ces situations complexes à analyser. La violence s'entretient parfois en définissant des cycles de répétition. Pourquoi et comment la maltraitance à enfants se répète-t-elle de génération en génération ? S'agit-il de l'effet du « pur hasard » ? Pouvons-nous retrouver des facteurs de « vulnérabilité » ? À la lumière des concepts de transmission et de loyauté, s'appuyant essentiellement sur les références systémiques, l'article parcourt les mécanismes à l'œuvre qui, s'ils sont cumulés, augmentent le risque de répétition. Sommes-nous donc aussi libres que nous ne le pensons de transmettre notre patrimoine issu de nos parents et aïeux ? Certes, il demeure, « en fin de comptes », la liberté intérieure du sujet… !

The ill-treatment with children challenges more than one clinician confronted with these complex situations to analyze. Sometimes violence is maintained by defining repetition cycles. Why and how is the ill-treatment with children repeated from generation to generation? Is it the effect of the "pure hazard"? Can we find factors of "vulnerability"? In the light of the concepts of transmission and honesty essentially based on the systemic references, the article examines the mechanisms concerned which, if they are cumulated, increase the risk of repetition. Are we thus as free as we think of transmitting our inheritance resulting from our parents and ancestors? Indeed, "after all" remains the interior freedom of the subject…!
