Orientation tout au long de la vie et validation des acquis de l'expérience

Analysis of his/her own experience constitutes the central core that links dynamically the processes of validating experiential learning and of elaborating a professional project. Legislators recommend measures aiming at granting diplomas for skills and competencies that have been acquired on an informal basis. However quantitative and qualitative research data shows that the quest for a diploma is only productive when it stems from personal motivations, largely dependent on each individual's specific goals. From a career development point of view, an application for validation of experiential learning is an opportunity that should be taken advantage of, insofar as it leads individuals to combine a self-recognition (via an analysis of their experiences) and an external recognition of the competencies involved in these experiences.
