This study was helpful in better understanding the discordance between treatment provided and patient satisfaction. Diverse opinions concerning the etiological factors involved led to persistence of the painful syndrome and its consequences, including switching physicians. Progress must be made in the patient-physician relationship to improve pluridisciplinary care for this complex condition.
