The influence of durian (Durio zibethinus Murray cv. Monthong) on conditioned taste aversion to ethanol

► Concurrent administration of ethanol and durian elicits DER-like interactions in vivo. ► Upon ethanol challenge, rats given durian and cabbage exhibited similar unpleasant clinical manifestations not seen in control groups. ► CTA and hypothermia in rats given durian/cabbage support the central role of acetaldehyde on the severity of the DER.
