Synthesis of xylan-graft-poly(l-lactide) copolymers via click chemistry and their thermal properties

► Xylan-graft-poly(lactide) copolymers were prepared as a novel xylan-based plastic material, via click chemistry. ► The grafted PLLA side-chains acted as an internal plasticizer for xylan. ► A small number of PLLA chains with appropriate molecular weight could effectively increase the thermal stability of the copolymers.
