Pkh1 interacts with and phosphorylates components of the yeast Gcn2/eIF2α system

► Pkh1 interacts with all three eIF2 subunits and Gcn2 in vitro. ► Pkh1 co-immunoprecipitates Gcn2. ► Pkh1 can phosphorylate Gcn2 in vitro. ► Pkh1 inactivation does not affect eIF2α-S51 phosphorylation or GCN4 translation.
