Rhomboid-7 over-expression results in Opa1-like processing and malfunctioning mitochondria

► We describe the ectopic gain of function phenotype of Rhomboid-7 in Drosophila. ► We show that Rhomboid-7 over-expression results in processing of Opa1-like in Drosophila. ► Most but not all, Rhomboid-7 over-expression phenotypes were suppressed by halving the Opa1-like gene dosage.
