Eficiencia de la vacunación antigripal inactivada virosómica aplicada a niños sanos en la práctica pediátrica privada durante el examen de salud anual

The study carried out from a family perspective showed that the vaccination of healthy pre-school and school children in the private sector with a single dose of inactivated virosomal influenza vaccine, besides providing important health benefits to the vaccinated children, has socioeconomic benefits for the family: in a basic case (cost of vaccine 18.73 euros, cost of visit to paediatrician 40 euros, cost of an episode of taking antibiotics 7.8 euros, cost of absence from school 20 euros, and absence from work 40 euros per day) 1.15 euros is saved for every euro invested. Finally, there are no financial savings when the analysis is made from a provider perspective, but the cost-effectiveness ratios are very reasonable (5.8 euros per case of acute febrile respiratory disease prevented and 6.87 euros per paediatric visit avoided).
