Streptococcus pneumoniae serotypes in Utah adults at the end of the PCV7 era

► We investigated the serotype distribution of IPD in Utah adults. ► PCV7 does not seem to have increased necrotizing pneumonia and empyema in adults. ► PCV7 serotypes have nearly disappeared among Utah adults and children. ► The majority of IPD serotypes in Utah adults and children are included in PCV13. ► PCV in children may impact serotypes in adults more than PPV in adults.
