Fragmentation of elongated-shaped ZnO nanostructures into spherical particles by swift ion impact

Elongated-shaped nanostructures of ZnO are observed to get splitted into spherically symmetric nanostructures upon 120 MeV Ag9+ ion irradiation (9×1010 ions/cm2).
