Recent status of optical coating technology and application in China

In this paper the development of optical coatings on glass and plastics in China has been reviewed. The emphases are laid on industrial applications in China, such as optical coatings on sheet glasses for architectural applications, ophthalmic coatings on glass and plastic lenses, various optical coatings for optical and magnetic data storage disks, and also for optoelectronic components in optical communication and panel displays. The Chinese market development trends of mentioned above applications are discussed.
