Mobile Payload Element (MPE): Concept study for a sample fetching rover for the ESA Lunar Lander Mission

► The MPE is a sample fetching rover operating on the Moon's south pole. ► It can collect regolith samples from surface, subsurface and locally shaded areas. ► The MPE can provide access to soils which possibly contain lunar volatiles. ► A MPE model payload is defined, comprising a camera payload and a mole as sampler. ► The MPE has a four-wheeled active chassis and is powered by solar generators.
