Specular refection at a non-stationary shock: A simple model

►We study the effects of small fluctuations in the shock normal direction on the shape of the reflected ions velocity distributions. ►The case of the specular reflection mechanism has been examined in detail. ►Weak, but significant, deviations from a Maxwellian are obtained.
