Aspects physiopathologiques

Intermittent hypoxia and sleep fragmentation induced metabolic disturbances are in favour of their systematic screening in SAS patients. It seems also relevant to include their management in the SAS global therapeutic strategy. The physiopathologic mechanisms linking SAS to metabolic syndrome will be described in this review.
