Éducation thérapeutique du patient et schizophrénies débutantes

RésuméL’éducation thérapeutique du patient (ETP) fait partie intégrante de la prise en charge de tout patient souffrant de maladie chronique. Elle est rendue obligatoire depuis la loi HPST 2009. La schizophrénie est une maladie qui touche l’adulte jeune et la précocité de la prise en charge influence de façon non négligeable le pronostic de la maladie. L’ETP a pour objectif de rendre le patient acteur de ses soins et permet de diminuer les taux de rechutes et d’hospitalisations. L’approche intégrative associant traitement médicamenteux, éducation thérapeutique et réhabilitation psychosociale donne une chance au jeune adulte souffrant de schizophrénie de stabiliser son trouble en développant une alliance thérapeutique forte et favorisant ainsi les perspectives de bien-être et de réinsertion socioprofessionnelle. Des approches de gestion du stress chez des sujets à haut risque de développer une psychose pourraient être intéressantes afin de réduire le taux de transition psychotique.

Psychoeducation is essential for people with chronic disease (or illness). The HPST law in 2009 rendered this obligatory. Schizophrenia affects young adults and the earlier the treatment begins the better is the recovery. The aim of psychoeducation is that the patient becomes the agent of his care to decrease relapses and hospitalization. An integrative approach which associates medication, psychoeducation and psychosocial rehabilitation is a chance for young adult to stabilize the disease, developing engage with the therapist, increasing well-being and social integration. For people with an ultra-high risk of psychosis, stress management approach and care management will be interesting to reduce transition to psychosis.
