Enfermedades dermatológicas como motivo de consulta en atención primaria

IntroducciónLas enfermedades cutáneas suponen un porcentaje muy significativo de la carga asistencial en la consulta de atención primaria.ObjetivosDeterminar la frecuencia de las enfermedades cutáneas como motivo de consulta principal en atención primaria.Material y métodosEstudio observacional, descriptivo (realizado del 1 de octubre de 2004 al 31 de enero de 2005) en 2 consultas de atención primaria de 2 centros de salud del área 1 de la Comunidad de Madrid.ResultadosEl motivo de consulta dermatológica fue el 2,86%. La edad media fue de 44,9 años. El 60,4% eran mujeres. El diagnóstico más frecuente fueron las infecciones cutáneas (29,2%). El 78,6% de pacientes recibió tratamiento. Se derivó al 26% de los pacientes al especialista.ConclusionesLas enfermedades dermatológicas afectan a una parte importante de la población y representan un porcentaje elevado de la actividad asistencial en la consulta de atención primaria.

IntroductionCutaneous diseases ocuppy a very significative proportion of the daily consultation in primary care.ObjectivesTo determine the frequency of the cutaneous diseases as a main reason of consultation in primary care, so to analyze the sociodemographic characteristics of these patients and the variables related to their dermatological processes.Material and methodsAn observational, descriptive study was performed between October 1st, 2004 and January 31th, 2005. Two medical offices of primary care of 2 health centers from the area 1 of the Community of Madrid.ResultsThe patients’ proportion with a reason for dermatological consultation was 2.86%. Their mean age were 44.9 year old. 60.4% were women and 39.6% were male. More than 50% of the patients consulted for one single injury. The most frequent diagnosis were cutaneous infections (29.2%). 78.6% of the patients received treatment. 26% of the patients was referred to the specialist.ConclusionsDermatological diseases involve an important part of the population, and they mean an important percentage in the primary care daily activity. A suitable formation in dermatology is necessary for a correct managing of these patients, and to improve the quality of the sanitary attention.
