La télémédecine en psychiatrie du sujet âgé : enjeux et perspectives

The current boom in new technologies applied to the medical field involves all disciplines, and in particular the field of psychogeriatrics. It facilitates access to care for a vulnerable population that is not readily mobile, and optimises the efficiency of health care teams. In Normandy, the centre hospitalier du Rouvray, in collaboration with the Regional Health Agency, is developing digital tools among which is a “telepsychiatry” system dedicated to dependent elderly patients living in nursing homes, based on a mobile, multidisciplinary team. These telemedicine consultations are well-received by patients and medical professionals alike.
