El paciente esquizofrénico y su sexualidad: conductas y trastornos sexuales

The present article examines the literature pertaining to the sexual behaviors and problems of schizophrenic patients. Issues reviewed include the prevalence of sexual activity in the seriously mentally ill, their risk of contracting HIV, their likelihood of experiencing sexual abuse, the problem of sexual dysfunction in this population, their propensity for developing maladaptive sexual repertoires, and the comorbid diseases that promote sexual disfunction in the mentally ill.
