Maternal and stock effects on egg-size variation among walleye Sander vitreus stocks from the Great Lakes region

► We examine egg size variation of 5 walleye populations in the Great Lakes region. ► Inter-population > within-population egg size variation. ► Egg size appears to maximize at intermediate female age and length. ► Population mean egg size may correspond to primary production of spawning habitats.
