چکیده انگلیسی
⺠First review to synthesize available literature on movements of Great Lakes fishes. ⺠Most commonly studied species were lake trout, walleye, and lake sturgeon. ⺠Mark-recapture is the most widely used movement quantification technique followed by radio-telemetry. Other methods include hydroacoustics, acoustic telemetry, PIT tagging, and otolith microchemistry. ⺠Movement studies tended to focus on reproductive biology, stocking, habitat use, and the effects of environmental disturbances on movement.⺠Research opportunities exist to study inter-lake movements, broaden the number and types of species studied, increase studies on the movements of invasive species, and further investigate the effects of barriers on fish movement.
