Effects of okadaic acid on haemocytes from Mytilus galloprovincialis: A comparison between field and laboratory studies

► We correlate the effect of OA in naturally contaminated mussel samples against the OA body burden. ► Increased concentrations of OA were used for in vitro studies and comparison. ► Damaged haemocytes decreased in the highest OA contaminated rafts (2478 ng/g dry weight) and after exposure to 100 nM of OA.
