Antibiotic resistant bacteria as bio-indicator of polluted effluent in the green turtles, Chelonia mydas in Oman

► Antibiotic resistant bacteria was found in the oviductal fluid of the nesting green turtle. ► Marine turtles are exposed to different contaminated effluents, such as sewage. ► Contaminated effluents may contain antibiotic resistant bacteria. ► The presence of antibiotic resistant bacteria may be used as bioindicator of marine pollution.
