Inhibition by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons of ATPase activities in Sebastiscus marmoratus larvae：Relationship with the development of early life stages

► Fish larvae were exposed to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons containing 3-5 rings. ► Larval rate of dorsal curvature and pericardial and yolk sac edema increased. ► Larval Na+/K+-ATPase and Ca2+-ATPase activity were significantly inhibited. ► Rate of the defects significantly correlates with the inhibition of the activity.
