The effects of carbonates removal on adsorption, immobilization and activity of cellulase in a calcareous soil

► Soil carbonates removal with acetic acid increased cellulase adsorption intensity. ► Soil with higher carbonate contents had higher maximum buffering capacities. ► Soil with higher carbonate contents had higher adsorbed and immobilized cellulase. ► Soil carbonates removal increased the immobilized cellulase activity. ► Soil carbonates removal increased the immobilized cellulase specific activity.
