► Jinfeng (Lannigou) gold deposit is a fault-controlled gold deposit. ► The F3 fault developed as a thrust but subsequently transformed into a dextral slip and normal fault. ► An extensional space at the intersection of the F2 and the F3 fault was created. ► The splay setting represents the principal metallogenic mechanism.
